Qualified Medical Illustrator: Credentials

All of MediVisuals’ medical illustrators have master's degrees from one of the four accredited graduate programs in North America.  MediVisuals is dedicated to providing you with the highest quality of service.

In addition to holding master’s degrees from an accredited medical illustration graduate program, many of MediVisuals’ illustrators have also made the effort to become certified by the Board of Certification of Medical Illustrators (BCMI).  The BCMI is an independent body that administers this voluntary certification program designed to provide the practicing medical illustrator with the recognizable and valuable CMI credential.  The  Standards  are established by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

A CMI has successfully passed examinations in business practices, ethics, biomedical science, and drawing skills and has undergone a rigorous portfolio review.  Should the validity and accuracy of a medical illustration or animation necessitate examination of the qualifications of the medical illustrators, these two attributes are very valuable.

For more about medical illustration and certification, visit the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI).
