EXPERIENCE:

Cathy is a former Pirate of East Carolina University.  After graduating with a degree in Finance, Cathy’s career in financial services spanned over 15 years in various marketing and sales positions with Acacia Mutual Life and Calvert Funds.  As a marketing relationship manager, Cathy worked with product sponsors to educate and collaborate with financial planners across the country.  She coordinated Top Producer Meetings in various locations, including Vail, Colorado; Whistler, British Columbia; Maui, Hawaii; Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Nevis, West Indies and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

In 2010, Cathy began using Quickbooks to help organize finances for a family business.  As she learned more about the software and the powerful analysis tools available from Intuit, she decided to self study and become a Quickbooks ProAdvisor.  She soon discovered there was a niche for small business owners who were overwhelmed by starting a business and trying to “do it all themselves.”  Cathy became a Certified Public Bookkeeper through the online study program offered by the NACPB in 2015.  She is dedicated to keeping up with the latest updates from Intuit and their app partners through online webinars and conferences, including attendance to Quickbooks Connect in 2016 and 2017.

A native of Gaithersburg, MD, Cathy relocated to Richmond, VA with her family in 2015.  In her free time, she enjoys tennis, the beach, yoga and watching her kids play sports and music.  She ran the Nashville Rock and Roll Half Marathon in 2014 and is a frequent participant in the Monument 10k, an annual race in Richmond, VA.
